Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and listen to mechanical equipment to diagnose issues
  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, tools, and machinery
  • Perform regular maintenance on industrial machines or vehicles
  • Repair or replace broken equipment parts
  • Assemble and install new or replacement equipment
  • Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, welding equipment, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
  • Request needed materials or tools to complete repairs
  • Keep records of maintenance and repair work
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Train other workers in proper maintenance and repair techniques
  • Assist other engineers with larger projects

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors
  • Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
